Here’s a simplified checklist for ensuring you’re ready to transform your wall:

  • Measure the length and width of the wall area to determine the total area. Order an additional 10% for incorrect cuts.
  • Laminate is suitable for an accent wall when used in climate controlled (35-65% RH and 60-85°F) indoor installations only. It’s not appropriate for sloping walls, ceiling or soffits.
  • The desired installation wall should be primed or painted drywall only. Do not install directly over wallpaper or paneling.
  • Remove baseboards from the accent wall and locate the wall studs using the stud finder tool.
  • Acclimate unopened product lying flat in the room where it is to be installed for at least 48 hours.

Transforming your room with a horizontal accent wall is as simple as following the detailed instructions and illustrations found in the downloadable installation guide.

Installation essentials:

  • Leave a 3/16” gap between any adjoining wall.
  • Apply silicone adhesive caulk to the back of each plank.
  • Fit additional planks by angling tongue into groove and wiggling into place.
  • Remove the short end tongue to create a square end per instructions.
  • Create a more natural look by with a joint “stagger” of 8 to 12 inches. Avoid allowing plank ends to align.
  • Finish by installing the baseboard of your choice.
