PERGO® is the world’s most recognized and trusted flooring brands. We invented the category over 30 years ago and continue to innovate with around 500 patents and pending patent applications throughout the world.
With operations and sales in North America, Europe and Asia, Pergo is dedicated to creating high quality laminate flooring with fashion forward designs and leading technologies. In addition to its successful laminate products, Pergo introduced a premium hardwood product into the US market beginning in 2004.
Throughout North America, consumers can find Pergo products at leading home improvement stores and more than 5,000 independent specialty retailers. In Europe, the products are sold to a variety of residential and commercial consumers via flooring and paint stores, wholesalers and various home improvement chains.
Pergo has two manufacturing facilities in both the United States and Canada, as well as two plants in Sweden.
Pergo Company History
1923
Perstorp Industrial Group began producing laminate surface.
1977
Laminate flooring concept was created.
1984
Launch of the first laminate floor in Sweden.
1985
Opening of the first laminate flooring factory, Trelleborg, Sweden.
1989
Pergo Original brand introduced.
1994
Pergo laminate flooring introduced in the United States
1995
Introduction of Pergo in Asia / Pacific
1996
Flooring factory opens in Garner, North Carolina USA
1997
Launch of high-quality commercial grade product, Pergo Publiq
1999
Introduction of Pergo Living, Pergo Select, Pergo Expressions and Pergo Preferred sub-brands
2000
The company’s name was officially changed from Perstorp Flooring to Pergo, Inc. and introduced the Pergo Family sub-brand
2001
Pergo listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange and the sub-brands were introduced. Manufacturing capacity expanded in Garner North Carolina
2002
Pergo constructed a new distribution facility and launched Pergo Paradigm and Pergo Accolade
2003
Pergo Signature is launched
2004
Pergo builds the Four-in-One molding plant in Garner, North Carolina. The sub-brands Pergo American Cottage, Pergo Casual Living, Pergo Vintage Home and Pergo Hardwood were introduced to the North American market place
2005
Extensive manufacturing plant expansion. Pergo Vintage Home Traditional Strip, Pergo Accolade Tiles and Pergo Everyday are launched
2006
Exotic collections of Pergo Global Passage and Pergo World Traveler are introduced
2007
Pergo is delisted from the Swedish Stock Exchange, acquired by Pfleiderer AG, Introduced Pergo Prestige and the “Pergo the Dog” campaign
