Open Positions

Distribution

Supervise, coordinate, and direct the operational activities of the Distribution Center for a designated shift. Effectively communicate and cooperate with the Distribution Center Manager in maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring a safe work environment. Maintain reports, productivity measurements, and other records as required.

Major Accountabilities

    * Plan and schedule the efficient use of associates and equipment to accomplish objectives.
    * Coordinate directly with Production Manager at production facility to ensure production and distribution continuously works as a team to achieve objectives.
    * Supervise the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving through shipping and returns.
    * Continuously measure/monitor performance according to established standards.
    * Analyze productivity rates and make recommendations for process/procedure changes to achieve optimum productivity.
    * Ensure inventory accuracy.
    * Select, hire, train and appraise Distribution Associates to attain the highest quality standards of service and achieve optimal productivity levels.
    * Support development of Distribution Associates through various training initiatives and cross train associates to achieve a flexible workforce.
    * Maintain a highly motivated workforce by providing timely communications, displaying an attitude of consistency and fairness, and providing recognition for good work or ideas.
    * Complete performance evaluations and perform continuous performance feedback.
    * Exercise the necessary safety precautions to ensure the safety of all personnel.
    * Operate shift according to budget.

Requirements

    * High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associate or bachelors degree preferred
    * Minimum five years of experience in high volume consumer goods Distribution Center, supervisory experience preferred.
    * Broad knowledge of and experience with industrial warehousing and product distribution functions such as shipping, receiving, inventory control, work scheduling and customer service.
    * Demonstrated knowledge and successful application of sound employee relations practices including coaching and correction action.
    * Awareness of employment law and hiring practices such as: Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), diversity appreciation, etc. in order to ensure the company’s commitment to our employees and the law.

Sales/Marketing

The Brand Manager is responsible for developing plans and executing projects and key initiatives that support the broader short-term and long-term sales and marketing strategies. The Manager collaborates with the Pergo sales, marketing and finance groups to ensure the brand remains relevant to consumers and that brand integrity is maintained across product lines, advertising, and all other internal and external communication.

    * Engages, inspires and galvanizes the organization around the brand vision, position and strategies so they are clear in bringing them to life in their areas of functional expertise.
    * Drives consumer understanding and insights that defines our prime prospects needs, attitudes and values in order for consumers to have stronger and more impactful brand experience.
    * Analyzes market, consumer, and competitive information to support setting new product pricing and managing price on existing items.
    * Conducts analysis and periodical reviews of the brand, competitive, category, customer and consumer trends to enhance the brand’s equity and marketplace performance.
    * Analyzes and provides consumer, category, and brand information to support channel marketing and sales in category management and sales presentations.
    * Leads and collaborates with research and engineering to develop and execute innovation platform pathways, products innovation and renovation.
    * Works collaboratively with operations/sourcing to identify and develop productivity initiatives.
    * Develops growth targets, business objectives and brand strategies for the brand that aligns with the global business plan.
    * Leads global brand planning process by developing and executing annual brand target setting and innovation review and brand strategy review. Participates in and contributes to annual brand operating plan reviews.
    * Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, marketing, design and operation to execute specific marketing plans for each assigned title.
    * Develops and manages brand platform to include a definition of the brand vision, promise and value proposition as well as positioning,
    * Develop and implement brand review process to ensure alignment across all areas of the organization on brand standards and expression.
    * Be the most knowledgeable resource in the company as it relates to the brand and champion the brand throughout the organization, with partners and external agencies.

Requirements

    * Bachelor degree required with a concentration in Marketing, Communications or equivalent. MBA preferred.
    * Minimum five years experience in consumer package goods marketing and branding.
    * Minimum five years managing direct reports.
    * Proven track record building a world-class retail brand program.
    * Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing new product strategies, plans and launches.
    * Proven track record of successfully managing a budget.
    * Proven ability to manage cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
    * Strong understanding of both direct and indirect sales channels.
    * Strong project management skills. Knows and can use project management methods and models. (Pert, Gant, critical path concept, etc.)

Assist and manage key marketing projects for new business initiatives and other projects as assigned. This includes providing direction for the development/manufacturing of products and the execution of packaging, merchandising and sales support materials.

Requirements

    * BA required with a concentration in marketing preferred. Will consider equivalent relevant work experience.
    * Minimum three years experience in consumer marketing, advertising, brand management or marketing communications.
    * Experience working with large retail customers, advertising and design agencies, printers and vendors as well as new product introductions. Home Center, wholesale clubs and/or 2-step distribution experience a plus.
    * Experience with production of printed materials, including a basic knowledge of specifications, print production process, substrates, etc.
    * Strong Microsoft Office computer application skills to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as experience using electronic mail.
    * Travel to meet with customers and field organization is required.

Information Technology

Support day-to-day operations of computer support services, including technical support of servers / workstations and OS / Application software. Serve as the Help Desk administrator and is the primary point of contact in IT for users and business incidents and requests and is responsible for logging of all tickets related to problems and/or requests. Build and install new workstation / server computers, troubleshoot and resolve related hardware / software issues on existing servers and user (workstation) computers. Maintain the fixed asset inventory of all corporate computer hardware and software.

Major Accountabilities

    * Provide Tier 1 technical support to users. This includes (but is not limited to):
    • - Software and hardware information / use / training and troubleshooting
    • - Security access and passwords for network, business and telecom systems
    • - Resolution of printing issues and general technical questions.
    • - Diagnose and resolve minor client workstation issues in a timely and efficient manner via telephone and/or remote access software.

    * Provide Tier 2 technical support of end users and Pergo IT Operations group. This includes (but is not limited to):
    • - Build, configure, deploy and maintain laptops and desktops supported by IT.
    • - Software installation and maintain software license compliance
    • - Security patch and firmware/software updates as required
    • - Troubleshooting and repair of hardware / software including component, software or driver upgrades or replacement, etc.
    * Active Role in Asset Management – Hardware and Software
    • - Server / workstations component and software procurement as required
    • - specifications and inventory stock / control / logging
    • - Quarterly audit compliance on hardware / software configurations
    • - Participate in annual asset review and retirement programs
    • - Warranty / non-warranty coverage and repairs on server / workstation components
    * Helpdesk Administration and Support
    • - Serve as the Help Desk system administrator. Log problem and request tickets using established procedures and act as liaison between users and IT.
    • - Assign priority to calls and work requests and route to IT technicians for resolution. Review tickets for status, progress and documentation.
    • - Produce timely reporting on Help Desk statistics and present call volume and statistics in verbal, electronic and printed form.
    • - Process IT Purchase Order requests.

    Requirements

      * College degree in Computer Science or equivalent (2 + years) experience supporting computer equipment in a corporate IT environment.
      * Current knowledge of Windows Server and Client operating systems including Windows 2003/XP/Windows 7 and the ability to build and configure the O.S. on new or existing hardware.
      * Current knowledge of Microsoft networking services including the Windows Active Directory authentication model, DHCP and basic TCP/IP protocols.
      * Current knowledge of a basic corporate network including Ethernet switches, hubs, cable jacks, wireless use and configuration, etc.
      * Working knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Office product suites.
      * Industry approved A+ certification or equivalent experience and experience in computer hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting.

Product Development

Pergo, the industry leader in laminate flooring, is seeking a Product Manager for Flooring Accessories. The Product Manager will work with a cross functional team to develop and launch products within the designated portfolio. As a member of the Product Development team, the Product Manager will focus on expanding new products while managing the existing portfolio

Major Accountabilities

    * Manage the product through the lifecycle to effectively and efficiently meet market (customer/consumer/channel) needs.
    * Identify consumer requirements for products and translate into product performance specifications.
    * Lead cross-functional teams to successfully develop and launch new innovative products. Ensure that team members and the Management Team understand critical path items and support the actions needed to ensure successful and timely introduction.
    * Development strategic selling arguments and demonstrations, initial forecasts, packaging and pricing for new products. Drive development of market research and competitive analysis to support product development projects.
    * Monitor customer and consumer satisfaction with assigned products and recommend actions. Follow up to ensure that problems are root-caused and resolved.
    * Develop business cases and financial justification for new products and major upgrades, and obtain approval to launch the new product from the Management Team.
    * Lead development of product portfolio strategy and plans to deliver business objectives while strengthening Pergo's position in the market and individual channels. Gain internal commitment for business strategy and budget from the Management Team.
    * Become the product expert in assigned categories.
    * Manage warranty development and supporting testing.

Requirements

    * Four-year degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field. MBA preferred.
    * 2-5 years work experience in product development or product management within the consumer goods market. Should have previous experience working with big box retailers.
    * Proven track record of successfully leading, managing and implementing major projects under tight deadlines.
    * Experience in collecting and analyzing market research to identify product requirements.
    * Understands and uses project management methods and models.
    * Ability to lead, integrate, coordinate and communicate cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
    * Thrives in a fast-paced environment; tolerates ambiguity and copes well with stress.

Operations

Responsible for producing quality laminate flooring products while meeting or exceeding expected safety, quality, production and customer satisfaction goals. Maintains line efficiencies by operating infeed, adjusting cross and paul saws, makes tool changes and adjustments, performs changeovers, reads and interprets technical drawings, troubleshoots equipment for all quality problems and escalates mechanical and electrical problems to management. Performs required quality tests and measurements using gauges.

Major Accountabilities

    * Operates the infeed, adjusting cross and paul saws, make tool changes and perform changeovers on the laminate flooring on the milling line.
    * Monitors and troubleshoots specific machinery operating deficiencies.
    * Analyzes quality defects and corrects deficiencies in the line.
    * Operates and monitors all electrical and mechanical set ups on machines.
    * Perform all quality tests as required to correct quality defects.
    * Adjusts tools on machinery or makes changes to maintain first quality product.
    * Performs minor repairs on machines and may assist maintenance.
    * Uses mechanical tools to make adjustments.
    * Uses business operating systems such as regtime, downtime reporting sheets and end of shift reports and enters data on computer system as needed.
    * Checks and adjusts pressure settings and ink date coders.
    * Perform duties using proper housekeeping and observes safe work practices.
    * Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

    * High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    * Minimum of 5 years experience working with continuous multi-functional production/processing machinery.
    * Read and comprehend technical manuals and blueprint drawings.
    * Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including conversion to metric system.
    * Must be able to work a 12 hour rotating shift.

All Pergo employees are eligible to contribute to the 401(k) plan after 6 months of employment.The company matches 67 cents per dollar up to 6% of the employee's contribution. Employees are fully vested after only 3 years, and have many investments to choose from.

Paid Company Leave

Pergo encourages all employees to take time away from work. Employees are eligible for nine(9) paid holidays, two(2) floating holidays and accrue vacation on a bi-weekly basis. Additionally, employees are eligible for sick time each calendar year which may be used to care for their own illness, a child’s illness or healthcare provider appointments.

Disability and Life Insurance

All Pergo employees are eligible for company paid short-term disability (STD) after 30 days of employment. STD covers 50% of base pay up to 90 days. Once short-term disability has expired, employees are eligible for company paid long-term disability as well. The LTD plan pays 50% of base earnings; however, supplemental coverage (which covers 60% of base pay) is available at a nominal cost to employees.

Additionally, all full-time employees are covered with life insurance in the amount of 2-times their annual base salary on their 30th day of employment. Supplemental life insurance may be added at a nominal cost to the employee.
